Hi! My name is Barbara Pertzsch. The name Pertzsch is a German name and is pronounced "Perch", like the fish. I am celebrating 26 years of teaching in St. Paul this fall. I started off teaching second grade at Frost Lake and have spent the last 19 teaching kindergarten (with one year working as a Basic Skills Intervention teacher) at Maxfield, Hancock and Franklin.

I attended college at Hamline University, graduating with a degree in Psychology and a concentration in Elementary Education. I am married and have three kids that range in age from 22 to 15. I enjoy being an active person and spend my leisure time going on bike rides, working out, reading, crafting and gardening. One of my favorite places to go on vacation is Grand Marais, MN. It is  beautiful up there with many good hiking paths and places to climb around on the shore.
