My name is Ms. Lanasa and I am the school nurse at Saint Paul Music Academy.  My job is to help keep our students healthy and in class.  Healthy students are better learners.  Included in my responsibilities are:

• Helping students and their families manage chronic illnesses, such as asthma, ADHD, seizures, diabetes and hearing loss.
• Working with the Special Education Department when students have health conditions that are impacting their learning.
• Teaching students life skills, such as basic first aid, handwashing, and good hygiene.
• Screening student's vision and hearing and making referrals as needed.
• Helping families find health insurance or health care providers in the community.
• Adminstering medications or assisting students with health procedures during the school day.
• Promoting wellness issues, such as good nutrition and physical activity,  so that Saint Paul Music Academy students develop habits that will help them develop a healthy lifestyle.
