Miss Mary has been a special education teacher for over 20 years. She began as a First Grade teacher while working on her graduatedegrees in special education and administration.  She loves herstudents.  And teachers always refer to their students as "theirkids!"  

The special education DCD students are from kindergarden to grade 6.

on the IEP(Individual Education Plan) that each special education student has.

In the special education room many functional skills are practiceddaily from kindergarten to 6th grade (depending on the skill andability level of each student).  Such as: calendar, cooking,cleaning, self care, helping younger students, jobs, responsibility forbelongings, and independence.

Identifying landforms
hands on materials, activities, and games are used in the special education room to practicethematic topics being learned in the regular education classroom. Such as: solar system, volcanoes and ancient civilizations, weather,moon phases, the human body, insects and butterflies, birds and eggs, health, and physical exercise.
